Calc

Well, here's an exception to this being a source page: calc is a linux binary (done with Centos 5). After downloading, gunzip it, then you can type:
calc "?"
to get an idea of what calc can do. Just typing "calc" will put you into interactive mode (type quit to quit!). Calc can also take command line arguments: calc "5+sin(30)". Calc supports binary, octal, hexadecimal, and complex arithmetic, matrices, complex matrices, polynomials, rational polynomials, and has 151 built-in functions (as of Oct 10, 2007), including Bessel functions (J, I, Y, K), trigonometric and hypertrigonometric functions, Julian date conversion, Struve's H and L functions, singular value decomposition, eigenvalue/vector analysis, gamma, incomplete gamma, Jacobi elliptic functions, Airy functions, spherical harmonic function, simplex, and more. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone uses calc as a result of this posting; please drop me a note at NdrOchip@ScampbellPfamily.AbizM - NOSPAM! ccb (Chip's C beautifier) beautifies/pretties C and C++ code (ie. its a code formatter). Be careful -- this program has no guarantee of usefulness for any particular purpose, and it may only be used at your own risk. If it has a bad bug in it, it could damage your source, so keep the *.cb files it generates until you're sure it worked correctly. It preferentially produces output in the style I prefer (naturally), but with its numerous options it is customizable to many other styles.
Dynamic Shared Memory Allocator in C (usarena.tar.gz) For Linux

A dynamic shared memory memory allocator! There are several source files (C), two header files, and an example. The concept is based on SGI's shared memory allocation routines. Functions include:
- usconfig(), usinit(), and usadd() for initialization and parameter specification
- usputinfo() usgetinfo(), and uscasinfo() for common data structure support
- usmalloc(), usfree(), usrealloc(), and usrecalloc() for shared memory memory allocation
- usnewlock(), usfreelock(), ussetlock(), usunsetlock(), and ustestlock() for synchronization

Hdrtag

is a program which generates tags for header files, C and C++, LaTeX, maple, vim, yacc, and (some) assembly files. If you also use vim and hdrtag, you may wish to try hdrtag.vim with it -- its does for hdrtag what taglist does for ctags.

Set Directories (Bash Shell Version)

This Bash shell script (which may easily be changed to Kornshell/Posix) supports a nifty set of commands which support going/moving/copying to a list of directories. There are two lists: a history (sdprv, sdprv1, sdprv2,...) and bookmarks (sdgo, sdgo1, sdgo2, ..., sdgo50). Use sdlist to see the listing. Moving: mvgo, mvgo1, ... , mvgo50. Copying: cpgo, cpgo1, ..., cpgo50.
